Driving along Route 12 in Desdemona this evening, I came across three rather forlorn-looking aliens standing beside their crashed flying saucer, smoke drifting lazily up into a pink and purple sky, wildflowers nodding away all around them as if nothing unusual had happened at all.
They didn’t seem aggressive, just a little stranded.
I couldn’t resist stopping for a photograph. It’s exactly the sort of unexpected scene that reminds me how endlessly imaginative Second Life residents can be, and it’s the kind of thing that makes me smile every time I stumble across it. Whether it’s part of a larger story or simply a whimsical roadside display, discoveries like this are what make exploring worthwhile.
If you’re travelling along Route 12, perhaps slow down for a moment. You never know what you might find waiting beside the road.
And if anyone’s passing with room for three, I’m sure they’d appreciate a lift.
The scene appears to have been created by Maximous Darwin.
